Cole still has two years at 4.5 mill left. He hasn't scored 40 since he was in the Q, back in the 1999 season......he's a career 50 point man.......he and Cole are actually similar players when it comes to points.......a couple years younger is a good thing, and the pick probably won the trade, but it will take more than that to put in in the awesome category...lol. Last year of his contract just means that you have to resign him or lose him for nothing.....if he puts up 15 or 20 goals in a shortened season this year, then he is going to be looking for more money. I always found it funny that people used to talk about the Leafs always picking up retread players, or guys on the back end of their careers.......but when we see it from the Habs, it becomes a great deal......lol. Hal Gill was a great example of this....too old, too big, too slow while in Toronto, but was all of a sudden he makes it to Montreal and is their best dman. lol

Ryder always plays awesome the year when he is looking for a new contract or the first year of a new contract and such he was in Boston. One year later he was not so good and the same happened the first time in Montreal. Also Ryder is streaky and lifts up his game in the playoffs....at least that is what he did the year Boston won the Cup.
He is a glorified 3rd liner usually and an average 2nd liner at best.
And don't ask him to play a solid defensive game....he is average in that department too.

I'm not a Habs fan, but I don't dislike them either. I like following the Canadian teams in general. I like this deal for Montreal though...I think Ryder as a Hab again may lead to the second time being a charm.

Quite the game last night with the Habs/Pens.......lol. The good guys won in the end, but not a good game for goaltenders numbers.

Sad news about Geoffrion having to retire due to that skull fracture. Best of luck to him in the future! Hopefully we see him behind the bench soon!
