Good to see Tiger back near the top....would have been on the top after 2 rounds, if not for the bad luck of hitting the flag with that great approach shot.
I would love to see Tiger win it......with the crap he went through, with the whole world against him, sponsors dropping him, swing changes dropping him to around 60 in the world, etc.....to come back from that and win 4 times this year already, is just plain impressive, and clearly shows that he is number 1 in the world.
They were explaining that drop he had, as he was taking it, or during the replay.....they said he had 3 options of what to do.......drop in the drop zone, drop from where he had played, or go back as far as he wanted on the same line.....he went 2 yards further back on the same line, so I'm not sure what the fuss is about........if he was DQ'ed the golfing world would go nuts. He makes the tournament better, he raises ratings on his own...they should be begging him to stay, not talking about a DQ.......EDIT****thankfully they settled on a 2 stroke penalty, instead of a DQ, so it puts him 5 shots back after 2 rounds.
..I also think giving the kid(14 year old) a penalty was a dumb move, by an over zealous rules guy who didn't like the kid being there....the round was taking in the 6 hour range for everybody, and they choose to pick on the kid for something we see all the time.....he addressed his ball, was ready to go, then the wind came up and he backed off, changed clubs, and went back to hit the ball....took in the 50 second range to do so, and they want you to hit within 40 seconds...really dumb......we will see 10 players do this in todays round alone with no penalty.......good to see the kid still made the cut.
Go Tiger!
