Would it really matter if he was banned from the league for this forever. Some players just dont have the skill to control their actions and play reckless all the time. For example if Moore was gone form the NHL would it be a bad thing. For the overall good of hockey, players like these would be easy to replace and the rest of the real players would be better off. Sounds like you're speaking of Alcade..

Moose fans are a bunch of whinny babies! Wasnt intentional but was wreck less . 5 or less games. What do you have against Moose fans? Aren't you from Nova Scotia yourself? 3 of your first 5 posts are like this one. Although there will be less rules on this board, we also want to keep the content where people will want to come back to read it. Welcome to the board. Thank you!!

I have a problem because they cry about everything. If they lose it's the refs. The league is out to get them. Even when they win they cry. Saying Ross Johnston intended to baseball swing . Give me a break. There knowledge of the game isnt very good. I mean they were crying mackinnon wasn't first line center on team canada.

It was all 18 players decided to have the worst game of there lives on the same night.

What a ridiculous post! Johnston is tough and has some very good skill for a big guy, but you'd have to watch him play to actually know that.

I don't know, I'd say it was somewhere between reckless and intentional.
I think he thought Lovell was still down at the time, and he definitely intended to swing his stick. I don't think he intended to hit Lovell or injure him, but he did want to piss him off, maybe get a retaliatory swing or punch in his direction to try and draw a penalty. A heat of the moment decision that went wrong, is my guess.
I'd say he deserves a light suspension, but nothing like having the book thrown at him. He has to learn that even though he didn't intend to hit Lovell, he broke his jaw by two-handing him across the face with a hockey stick. Intention doesn't make Lovell's jaw any less broken.

I believe it was not intentional, but he deserves to be suspended. I hope that all the media attention it is getting doesn't make the suspension longer than it needs to be. I think 4 games including the one he has already served would be enough.

Talked to Ross yesterday. Said he didn't even realize he struck him in the jaw till after the game. Felt he should of been suspended for being reckless but no where's near 15 games.

What did you expect him to say? I thought he didn't realize it either, just from watching the video.......if he had noticed he would have turned back toward him, instead of just getting back in the play.
